Derthona is completed: Paul Biligha is a new Leo

Bertram Derthona announces that the agreement has been reached with Paul Stephane Lionel Biligha, a center born in 90 who last season wore the Dolomiti Energia Trentino vest.

 

CAREER – Born in Perugia (PG) on 31 May 1990, Biligha took his first steps in basketball in Cameroon – his parents' country of origin – before returning to Italy, to Florence. After this experience, he moved to Casalpusterlengo where he finished the youth sector. His first experiences at senior level saw him wearing the vests of Verolanuova (C Regionale), Casalpusterlengo itself (A Dilettanti), Crema and Pavia, again in Serie A Dilettanti.

In 2012, the doors of Serie A opened for the first time for the new center of Bertram Derthona, who signed with Sidigas Avellino. Biligha remained in Irpinia for the following two years, playing in the Serie A championship. In 2014/15 he was the protagonist with the Ferentino shirt, in A2, before returning to the top championship, in Cremona. Paul remained in Lombardy from 2015 to 2017: in the second year he averaged 11 points and 5.2 rebounds.

His performances earned him the call of Umana Reyer Venezia coached by Walter De Raffaele, who he now finds again in Tortona. In the lagoon city the center born in 1990 confirms himself as a solid player, contributing with his performances to the conquest of the FIBA ​​Europe Cup in 2018 (conquered with the victory in the final against Avellino) and the Scudetto in 2019, which arrived at the end of the exciting final against the Banco di Sardegna Sassari.

After completing the two-year period in Venice, in the summer of 2019 Paul signed a multi-year contract with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. With the Milanese team he played in all Serie A competitions and made his debut in the EuroLeague. In Milan he contributed to numerous victories: two Scudetti (2021/22 and 2022/23), one Italian Super Cup (in 2020) and two Italian Cups (2021, 2022). Biligha is part of the roster that also reaches the EuroLeague Final Four in 2021.

After his adventure with Milan, he moved to Dolomiti Energia Trentino, with which he took the field in Serie A and in the EuroCup in 2023/24. With the Italy shirt, Paul Biligha took to the field with the Under 20 national team and with the experimental national team. The debut with the senior national team took place in 2017. He Now arrives at Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
