The youth sector has a new President: Claudio Coffano takes over from Andrea Ablatico, who remains as deputy
Changing of the guard at the top of the Derthona Basketball Lab. The Tortona society, an offshoot of the Derthona Basketball whose interests he looks after youth sector and minibasket, he elected himself President doctor Claudio Coffano, which it replaces Andrea Ablatico after 4 years of mandate, in the last Board of Directors meeting held in February.

Alessandro Pirulli, my predecessor, who collaborated in bringing the Tortona youth team to compete at the highest Piedmontese levels. It's been more than a year since every choice was made in full agreement with him and Claudio knows our internal dynamics perfectly. Given the, in some respects, surprising promotion obtained by the first team, I will be called to a more purely technical organization in the sector, while remaining in the company as Vice President, while Claudio, who is notoriously more inclined than me at public relations (laughs, ed. ) will follow all the institutional aspects and give his imprimatur to the technical choices, assisted by coach Luca Ansaloni who still has 3 years of contract with us. I would like to thank the owners and the Gavio family in particular, our President Marco Picchi and our CEO Ferencz Bartocci for having put up with me over these years and for having had the good heart to support me in the correct choices - the highest point for me remains the the acquisition from Borgomanero of a talent like Okeke - and for not throwing me "overboard" when I inevitably made a mistake. A final hug to Doctor Pia Camagna who has always been the great bulwark of the Tortona youth sector and who has always supported me. Having said that, starting tomorrow we will start working again with the technical and social objectives that a large company like ours must have in mind".
Claudio Coffano has a degree in environmental engineering and currently holds the position of Director of the Environment and Environmental Supervision Department at the Metropolitan City of Turin. These are the first words of the new President: “I welcomed with great pleasure and gratitude the proposal to take on the role of President of the Derthona Basketball Lab to give continuity to what has already been started by the lawyer. Pirulli first and further developed by Andrea Ablatico in recent years. Precisely the assumption of an even more important management role by Andrea will allow us to continue in the direction undertaken in perfect harmony. If on the one hand there is great satisfaction, on the other there is also a bit of fear for the challenges that await us and of being able to always improve the activity of our youth teams, also according to the legitimate expectations of the Derthona Basket which is achieving incredible results. Our effort must therefore be twofold: on the one hand, to remain a point of reference for all the children and young people from Tortona who want to take up the game of basketball, offering them the opportunity to socialize, train physically and athletically and increase their education with the educational values that sport can instill; on the other, try to grow in the youth sector by playing the best championships with increasingly competitive teams".
At the same meeting they were confirmed in their roles as Councillors Enrico Marina e Francesco Mantero and sanctioned the new entry into the same role as Matteo Magrassi (elected Secretary) ed Alessandro Dalocchio.
