“We have found a truly extraordinary community of interests to organize a week of events here in Turin that will develop in various forms – declared the President of the Serie A Basketball League Umberto Gandini -. I would therefore like to thank all the entities involved in this event. An event that does not only have a sporting value, although this clearly remains the most important, but which has become a basketball festival: within it the men's Final Eight, the women's Final Four and collateral events that will be able to satisfy the citizens, tourists and especially the youngest. This allows us to increasingly transmit what for us are the values of basketball and the diffusion of the same. We hope that this Final Eight can be the stimulus to create the fourth edition in Turin in 2026, an event that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Coppa Italia, when we will therefore need to celebrate an event that has now become a point of reference for basketball in Italy”.

COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTER FOR SPORT AND YOUTH AND THE SCHOOLS PROJECT

For the 2025 edition of the Frecciarossa Final Eight, also made possible thanks to the contribution of the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, the Lega Basket Serie A has dedicated a space in the Foyer of the Inalpi Arena for the dissemination of a series of off-court activities such as the promotion of the National Youth Card, Giovani2030 platform and other initiatives that integrate with the sporting and engagement activities of the Final Eight.

“Thanks to all the organizations involved who are once again hosting this extraordinary event in places that bring the public and the possibility of promoting sporting activity in all its forms – declared the Head of Department for Sport Flavio Siniscalchi – We are always very close to national and international events, because we believe that the socio-economic impact is valuable, considering that every euro spent on initiatives of this nature generates a return equal to five times as much and above all participation. Through these initiatives, we have been able to include collateral events of reference for the youngest, in which they can actively participate and above all spread the general values of sport. We want these to become places to increase awareness and responsibility, increasing the consciousness of young people on the importance of respect. We take advantage of events of this kind to play as a team and achieve what is the common goal. We are doing it, with Minister Abodi, moving to modernize the structures and therefore the Inalpi Arena is helpful as a point of reference for structures of this capacity. We are working to make them safe, functional and welcoming, without forgetting the sport itself, which is the basis for ensuring that everything works perfectly. If we manage to increase the number of those who undertake a sporting activity it will also be thanks to the possibility of having structures capable of hosting an ever-increasing number of spectators in which to practice this discipline with the opening of 100 new playgrounds to be built throughout the country. I believe this is a concrete message to make people understand how important sport is not only for citizens, but also for us as projects to be realized”.

“This year we are delighted with the agreement with the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi with whom we have shared a project linked to well-being and sport thanks also to the involvement of the various Departments – declared the President of the Serie A Basketball League, Umberto Gandini – The activities will be numerous and will have as their nerve center a space in the Foyer of the Inalpi Arena for the dissemination of all off-field activities such as the promotion of the National Youth Card, the Giovani2030 platform and other initiatives that integrate with the sporting and engagement activities of our Final Eight”

In particular, this initiative dedicated to the youth world is part of the commitment towards schools promoted also this year by the Lega Basket Serie A together with the USR Piemonte, with the collaboration of the FIP Piemonte Regional Committee with the project “A whole other sport: my basketball. The benefits of basketball for body and mind”, aimed at the 4th and 5th grades of primary schools and the 1st and 2nd grades of secondary schools in Piedmont.

The collaboration between Lega Basket Serie A, the USR and the partner institutions is based on the importance of sport as an essential practice for psychophysical well-being linked to a correct lifestyle and a fundamental tool to promote the individual and social growth of young students. For the third year in a row, the primary schools of Piedmont will be asked to develop a creative project, developing in this edition the theme of physical, psychological and emotional well-being that basketball promotes, with the aim of involving even those who do not practice this sport.

The winners of the competition, which involved sending banners/posters on the values developed by basketball to a special commission for primary school classes and a flash mob for secondary school classes, will have the opportunity to attend a day of competitions of the Frecciarossa Final Eight and the Frecciarossa Final Four on a day from 12 to 14 February 2025.

A new feature this year is that, on the courts provided in the foyer, Baskin competitions will be held, or “Integrated Basketball” where males and females, disabled and able-bodied players will be the protagonists in a rare example of true integration that in recent years has made great strides in terms of diffusion.

It will be present again DAZN Ref Cam, inaugurated last year thanks to the collaboration between LBA, DAZN and the support of the FIP. This technological innovation will once again offer a unique perspective from the referee's point of view on the field.

Furthermore, the usability of the meeting on television will be further enhanced with a production that includes the use of augmented reality graphics, which will allow you to follow the action in an even more dynamic and immersive way. A TRIPLE FOR CANDIOLO

The Frecciarossa Final Eight once again supports cancer care and research at the Candiolo Institute - IRCCS. Lega Basket and Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro take to the field together again, for the third consecutive year, relaunching "Una tripla per Candiolo". Also on the occasion of the 2025 edition, for each basket scored during the tournament, Lega Basket will make a donation of one hundred euros, to support the daily work of the doctors and researchers at the Candiolo Institute - IRCCS. This year, moreover, the LBF matches, scheduled for Friday, will be preceded by the lesson of "Pilates and Well-being: in balance for Research", a project conceived by the Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro together with the patients of the Candiolo Institute - IRCCS and the friends of the Foundation.

Furthermore, the partnership will give life to the first Opening Night that will take place on Monday, February 10, at the Rinascente store in Turin. An evening dedicated to sport, shopping and solidarity. For the occasion, 10% of the entire proceeds from the evening's sales will be donated to the Piedmont Foundation for Cancer Research. Furthermore, some unique lots from the world of art and sport will be auctioned off, curated by Sant'Agostino Case d'Aste. A great opportunity to donate and give yourself a special gift.

In the two previous editions, 90.000,00 euros were raised thanks to this partnership.

An event that evolves every year and always sets new quality standards in terms of organization, technology, entertainment and involvement, positioning itself as a key event within the Italian basketball season. In addition to the purely competitive aspect, entertainment has been studied in the smallest details and enhanced with collateral events and top-level initiatives for fans and others, bringing more and more spectators closer to our movement, all in the setting of a multifunctional facility that represents a flagship of the entire national panorama. I thank President Gandini for this important synergy between men's and women's basketball, President Petrucci for the constant support of the Italian Basketball Federation, all the institutions and partners involved".
