Strength in numbers: the numbers from the Lions' start to the season
An exciting first phase of the season, which sees Derthona in solitary first place in the standings in the Green Group of the Serie A2 Old Wild West championship, following the home victory of the Lions over Treviglio and the simultaneous defeat of Udine - within the friendly walls of PalaCarnera – against JB Monferrato. Six matches in which the team coached by Marco Ramondino recorded the following statistical entries:
- Team evaluation: 89.8 on average is a very high value, the four occasions in which it reached 90 were the same. Retry of important plays by all teams;
- Five players averaging double figures: behind Cannon and Fabi, Mascolo, Sanders and Ambrosin. They are the finalizers of the offensive maneuver, who also scored double figures in their last outing against Treviglio;
- Best difference between points scored and conceded in the Group: 80. The average difference per victory is 13.3 points;
- The strength of the field factor: 4-0 in the season at PalaOltrepò, coming against tricky opponents such as Biella, Orzinuovi, Torino and Treviglio;
- Almost 50% of baskets are assisted: important data when evaluating a team's offensive system: fluid and rapid circulation of the ball in the search for the best possible shot solution;
- The assist/turnover ratio:the value, which sees a greater number of assists than losses in the first six games, testifies to the ability to build balanced attacks at every moment of the match;
- Rebounds data: only in the match against Biella did Bertram capture the same number (46) of rebounds as its opponents, while prevailing in the other five matches played;
- The defensive force: 67 points conceded on average, a figure inflated in the final stages of the match against Orzinuovi and Treviglio, is another strong point in these six days of the Green Group.
