Juventus triumph in the LNP Super Cup 2019 Old Wild West final: Bertram Derthona plays a very solid match against Reale Mutua Torino, achieving success at the end of a hard-fought match that was only resolved in the final stages.
The start of the match was characterized by the great balance between the two teams: despite being forced to give up Gaines early on - author of two fouls in the opening minutes - it was Derthona who led the match in terms of scoring (11-12 at 5').
Eight consecutive points from Formenti then broke the tie and scored the first break (15-23 at 7'), forcing coach Cavina to stop operations. In the final Torino gets closer to the Bianconeri, who lead 10-23 in the 29th minute.
In the second period, Reale Mutua further reduced the distance from Bertram, who had to give up Gražulis, who had committed four fouls in the first half: the tie – at 40 points – was sealed by Marks three minutes before the long break.
The balance on the parquet remains even in the following moments: in the 20th minute it is 48 all. Upon returning from the locker room, Gaines' baskets give Derthona the lead (56-59), before the American player himself commits his fourth personal foul and is replaced by Formenti.
Marks and Alibegovic (who were given offensive and technical fouls in sequence) also reached four personal fouls, but Torino impacted the game at 60 (in the 26th minute) with a basket by Diop.
In the final minutes of the half, Marks takes the lead and gives Reale Mutua the lead (69-67) in the 30th minute.
A 5-0 scored by a possessed Marks puts three possessions apart between the two teams (74-67 at 32') forcing coach Ramondino to stop the game.
In the last minutes of the game there is a succession of emotions, and in the final Bertram manages to carry out the counter-overtaking thanks to the plays of Formenti and De Laurentiis: the Bianconeri achieve success, winning the LNP 2019 Old Wild West Super Cup.
