Gulliver Derthona's new year began with a defeat as, without Di Meo, Bellinaso, Coulibaly, and Bottelli, they lost 81-102 to BBG Gallarate at Pala Camagna.
The game immediately became an uphill battle for the Bianconeri, forced to chase a solid and consistent Gallarate for the entire forty minutes. Despite numerous absentees, Gulliver Derthona attempted to stay in the game by showing character and intensity, applying pressure to the visitors and exploiting their every mistake. The Lombardy team, however, driven by high percentages from beyond the arc, gradually managed to widen the gap, closing the first half with a 48-62 lead.
After returning from the locker rooms, Coach Talpo's team attempted to change the momentum of the game, but Gallarate continued to rack up points, reaching a maximum lead of 57-80 with two minutes left in the third quarter and taking the lead. In the final period, Gulliver Derthona managed to win the set, but was unable to re-open the game, which ended with the visitors leading 81-102.
The next Serie B Interregionale match is scheduled for Sunday, January 11th at 18:00 PM, away to Gazzada, for the final matchday of the first half of the season.
