Gulliver Supermercati Derthona earned its second consecutive victory by defeating Blu Orobica Bergamo 73-84 on the road in the sixth matchday of the Serie B Interregionale Conference Nord championship.
The Lions got off to an uphill start, struggling to keep pace with the home team. Toward the end of the quarter, three consecutive baskets and a more solid defense allowed the Bianconeri to close the quarter with a three-point lead. Derthona maintained their high intensity in the second quarter, continuing their strong 23-5 run from the end of the first quarter to take a 13-point lead. Bergamo's response after the timeout wasn't enough to reverse the momentum: Gulliver maintained firm control and went into halftime with a 51-40 lead.
Upon returning to the court, Tortona continued to dictate the pace, even reaching a maximum 20-point lead thanks to solid defense and quick offensive transitions, while finding good shots. The Bergamo team attempted to rally, but coach Talpo's team closed the third quarter ahead 55-74. In the final quarter, an 11-3 run by Blu Orobica temporarily reopened the game, but the Lions remained focused and managed the final possessions with clarity, securing the victory and taking home the two points. Gulliver thus earned its third win of the season, its first on the road.
Andrija Josovic had a remarkable performance, scoring a double-double of 26 points (6/9 two-pointers, 3/7 three-pointers, 5/6 free throws) and 11 rebounds.
