The tricolor expedition of the U19 Eccellenza of the Allianz Derthona begins: Monday the debut at the National Finals in Rome
The Under 19 Excellence of the black and white club Tomorrow afternoon, Sunday 31 May, he will take part in the opening ceremony of the National Finals of the category, scheduled in the splendid setting of the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
For the Derthona Basket youth sector, this is the fourth consecutive year in which the U19 Eccellenza team has reached the National Finals, managing to consolidate its position among the top twelve teams in Italy season after season. The most prestigious achievement dates back two years ago, when the black and white team narrowly missed out on the title, only losing in the final to EA7 Olimpia Milano.
The young Lions have been included in the Group D together with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Gorla Pallacanestro Cantù and GranTorino Draft. The debut is scheduled for Monday, June 1st at 18 pm against Olimpia Milano at the Pala Luiss.
The next two group matches are scheduled Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 June, will be scheduled based on the outcome of the first match.
The head coach of the U19 Excellence and Technical Manager, Vanni Talpo presents the black and white expedition: “We are delighted to be participating in the national finals again, an even more significant achievement in an edition that will see Italy's best teams compete, emerging from interregional groups and top-level play-offs.” The Juventus coach states “I want to congratulate my boys, who have demonstrated great consistency throughout their campaign, both in performance and results, and who have deservedly earned the opportunity to compete against the best teams once again, starting in the group stage.” Talpo adds We approach these finals with humility, but also with the determination to showcase the improvements we've made, both individually and as a team. For some of them, this will be the final chapter of their youth career: I'm sure they'll give it their all to fully experience this extraordinary experience once again.
FORMULA At the end of the three matchdays of the group stage, only the first-placed team will advance directly to the quarter-finals, scheduled for Friday, June 5th.
The second and third teams of the group, however, will have to face the play-offs on Thursday 4 June, facing the second and third teams of Group C, composed of Orange1 Bassano, Vis Ferrara, Pistoia and Tezenis Verona
The semi-finals will be played on Saturday, June 6th, while Sunday, June 7th, will be the day dedicated to the podium finals, with the one for the title of Italian Champion 2025/26 scheduled for 19:30 pm.
All matches will be played in Rome, between Titian altarpiece and Luiss Palace.
