Derthona Basket announces that it has signed a contract for the 2014/2015 season with the athlete Rodolfo Valenti. The contract provides for the possibility of extension also for the 2015/2016 season.

Marco Picchi, sports director, comments with satisfaction: “Rudy certainly needs no introduction. For him, the very high level career he has had up to now speaks for itself. We thought together with coach Cavina that he could be the right player for our project both from a technical and human point of view. At this point we believe we have built a roster suitable for our main objective which remains that of maintaining the category by having a calm championship while still depriving ourselves of satisfaction. The team is essentially done. We still have a visa available for a foreigner and if an opportunity arises in line with the company budgets we will not miss it. However, if we don't have opportunities we can easily start with this roster."

Valenti was born in Fabriano on March 24, 1980. He is a 198cm, 100kg winger with great athleticism and tactical flexibility. He is an expert player who can boast important appearances in the A1 and A2 championships and his characteristics allow him to adapt to various roles both in attack and defense.
Rudy grew up in the youth sector of Sutor Montegranaro, a club with which he made his debut in Legadue already in 2001/02. After two consecutive seasons in B1 in Cento, Valenti found Legadue again in the 2004/05 season in Fabriano. The following year he arrived at Triboldi Soresina, where he won both the B1 championship and the LegaDue. In 2007/08 he made his debut in A1 with Pallacanestro Cantù, before returning to Legadue in Soresina the following season and winning the championship again.
He began the 2009/10 season in Cremona in A1 and in January 2010 he moved to Assigeco Casalpusterlengo in LegaDue. Then the move to Reggio Emilia where he remained for two seasons and where he could count a championship won but also an Achilles tendon injury that kept him rested for a good part of the season.
In 2012/2013 he played in Legadue in Imola, averaging 11 points and 7 rebounds in an average of 25 minutes per game. In the last season he started with Lucca in Silver, playing 23 games, scoring 10.7 points, shooting 51% from 2 and 40% from 3, and averaging around 7 rebounds. Then the move to Capo d'Orlando coached by coach Pozzecco in the team that reached the playoff final, losing against Trento, playing 18 games averaging 3,5 points and 3 rebounds.

The company and all the staff welcome Rudy!!!
