A super partial of 23-4 in the last period gives Bertram Derthona success against Dolomiti Energia Trentino on the 1st day of the 2022/23 championship. After a complex match, in which the guests led for large stretches, the Lions raised the level on both halves of the field in the final part, first closing the gap, then overtaking. A complex first period for Bertram Derthona, who suffered the initiative of Trento at the start and ended up over double digits behind. In the second half the team coached by Ramondino tries to reduce the gap, reaching under double figures, before Trentino's new acceleration which makes it 29-44 at the break.

Trento played better than us for most of the forty minutes. Today we found a level of toughness, readiness, physicality and athleticism that we had never touched in the preseason, so I believe that our nervous and low-content performance is a consequence of this. During the match we struggled to do everything, then fortunately we improved and found a good contribution from the players coming off the bench. I understand that there are many expectations on the team, which are difficult to fill and require a path that we want to follow: I believe that tonight the enthusiasm of the public in the fourth quarter was an important factor. This component will be decisive for us. We could not have been aware of the character of the team, which emerges in difficulties, but at the same time we must be good at learning from a victory, because the final result must not distract us from many aspects that we must put right, raising the level in training to prepare ourselves better. Radošević suffered a knee problem during the match, which prevented him from returning. As for Harper, I think it's not easy to enter such a new team with the role of Christon's alter ego, so I think he needs time to find his role in the team, expressing the individual game within the collective one ”.
