The 2017/18 calendar has been published
The definitive calendar for the West group of Serie A2 has been published by the FIP competitive sector. Derthona will play the first match of the championship at home against Viola Reggio Calabria, and then travel to "neighboring" Treviglio and play the third and fourth matches of the championship again at home against Eurobasket Roma and Agrigento. The derby with Casale Monferrato will be played on the eighth day, while Givova Scafati will be on stage on 23 December at PalaOltrePo'.
The order of the matches has already been decided, as usual the dates and times of the individual matches will become definitive around the first days of September.
Thus coach Lorenzo Pansa on the path that Derthona will face: "I am used to thinking of the calendar exclusively as a list of thirty matches organized over time, and the history of the last A2 series championships, with their balance, is proves it again. The three home games in the first four will give an extra boost to our start to the championship, but they will not be in any way decisive for the continuation of our journey, since our group is totally new and will not have a history in common. We will therefore need a physiological period of time to find our balance and form our team identity. Aware of this, we will work with total seriousness and dedication to accelerate this process.”
