Born in Florence on 25 October 1988, Zerini took his first steps in the youth sector of Olimpia Legnaia Firenze, making his debut at senior level with the tank top of the B d'Eccellenza team in the 2005/06 season.
In the following three years he played in Castelfiorentino, in B2, before moving to Ruvo di Puglia in 2010/11. In A Dilettanti he produces 9 points on average and is the best shot blocker in the championship: with his performances he contributes to reaching the promotion semi-final.
He remained in Puglia also in the following years, signing in Brindisi in A2: in the first year, 2011/12, the team coached by Piero Bucchi won the Italian Cup-championship pairing. Andrea remained in Brindisi until 2016, taking on the role of captain in 2015/16. In those seasons Brindisi achieved increasingly important results and – in 2014/15 – also took part in the Eurochallenge, where it was eliminated by JSF Nanterre in the quarter-finals. In 2015/16 the Apulian team obtained a wild card to participate in the EuroCup, ending their experience at the end of the first phase.
In the summer of 2016 Zerini moved to Avellino: in his first year in Campania the team reached the Super Cup final (lost against Milan), the round of 2017 of the Basketball Champions League, from which it was eliminated at the hands of Venezia, the third place at the end of the regular season and the Scudetto semi-final. Andrea continues his adventure in Avellino also in 18/XNUMX, contributing to reaching the final of the FIBA Europe Cup (lost against Venezia).
From 2018 to 2020 he wore the Germani Brescia jersey, with which he played both the championship and the EuroCup. In the summer of 2020 he signed in Naples, in A2, with which he once again achieved the Italian Cup-promotion double in Serie A. Zerini remained at GeVi also in the following two years, both concluded with the achievement of salvation from the Neapolitan team.
Andrea was also part of the Under 20 national team, the Experimental team led by Luca Dalmonte in 2013 with which he took part in the Jesolo Tournament and the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey, and the senior national team. Now he comes to Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
