Born in Topeka (Kansas, USA) on August 23, 1989, Weems took his first steps at Highland Park High School, before choosing Missouri State Bears Basketball in College. During his college experience, the winger elevated his performance season after season and was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and All-American in 2011.
In 2012/13 he began his European career in Bonn, Germany, with which he played both the championship and the Eurochallenge, a competition which he averaged 13.2 points in 14 games played. In the following season he wore the Bayreuth jersey, again in Germany, before moving to France, to JSF Nanterre.
With the French team he wins the Match of the Champions, the match between the winning team of the championship and the team that triumphed in the French Cup, resulting in MVP of the match. With Nanterre, Kyle also wins the EuroCup, at the end of the final against Trabzonspor.
In 2015/16 he moved to Strasbourg, with which he again won the Match of the Champions, and with which he participates in the EuroLeague, scoring 7.9 points per game. After being eliminated from the top continental competition, the French club reached the EuroCup final, reaching the final - the first leg and the second leg - lost against Galatasaray.
After the two-year period beyond the Alps, Weems wore the Besiktas Istanbul jersey for two years: in the first year the Turkish club reached the Scudetto final, losing it against Fenerbahce, while the following year the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals. With Besiktas he took part in the Basketball Champions League in both years: after winning their group on both occasions, the Istanbul team was eliminated in the round of XNUMX.
In 2018/19 the American player remained in Turkey, moving to Tofas Bursa, averaging 14.4 points in EuroCup. In the summer of 2019 Weems arrived in Italy, at Virtus Bologna.
In his first year in Italy he was among the protagonists of the team that led the championship standings from the beginning until the stop due to Covid-19. In EuroCup, Virtus – until the competition was stopped – occupied second place in their group of the Top 16.
In 2020/21, Kyle scores 9.4 points in the league and 11.8 in the EuroCup, confirming himself as an important player on coach Djordjevic's board: at the end of the season the Scudetto and the EuroCup semi-final arrive.
In the following year, the American player further raised his performance, with over 13 points per game both in Italy and in the EuroCup. His performances on both sides of the pitch make him very important for winning the European competition, which is worth the return of Virtus Segafredo Bologna to the EuroLeague.
In 2022/23, Weems wears the team's jersey for the fourth consecutive season, helping them reach second place in the Serie A table. Now he arrives at Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
