Italy | 204 cm | December 5 1999

Born in Naples on 5 December 1999, Morgillo took his first steps in his hometown, playing his first senior championship in the 2016/17 season with Megaride Basket Napoli, a team playing in the Serie C Silver championship. The following year he moved to VL Pesaro with which he made his debut in Serie A and reached the Under 20 Eccellenza National Finals: in this event the Marche team's progress was interrupted in the quarterfinals against Virtus Bologna, then beaten by Treviso in the Scudetto final. At the same time, Morgillo gained important experience with the Bramante Pesaro shirt, in Serie C.

In 2018/19 he took the field on two occasions with VL in Serie A and wore the Senigallia jersey in Serie B, where he averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in the twenty-eight games played. At the beginning of 2019/20 he moved to Verona, in the East Group of Serie A2 Old Wild West, playing almost 8 minutes per match on the nine occasions in which he took to the pitch. On February 25th Alessandro becomes a new player for Virtus Arechi Salerno, without ever making his debut due to the stoppage of the championships.

Morgillo also boasts some important experiences with the Italbasket jersey: in 2015 he took part in the EYOF (European Youth Olympic Festival) with the National Under 16 team led on that occasion by coach Marco Ramondino, who he will now meet again in Tortona, while with the The Under 18 national team played in the Campobasso International Tournament in July 2017, in preparation for the European category championship held in Bratislava in the same year. In the summer of 2019 he played - in Israel - Eurobasket with the Under 20 national team, of which coach Ramondino was assistant coach to Andrea Capobianco. Now he comes to Bertram Yachts Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
