Marco Spanghero grew up in the youth sector of Servolana and Pallacanestro Trieste, wearing the red and white from the youth sector up to the first team (2009/10 season). At nineteen he moved to Trento, where he played for two seasons in Serie B1, winning the championship at the second attempt with 7.2 points and 1.4 assists in 19' on average.
Spanghero continued in Trento also in the two years of Serie A2, winning the Italian Cup in 2012/13 and a historic promotion to Serie A the following season, finishing with 7.5 points and 2.5 assists in 22' of average usage. The debut in Serie A took place in the following season, in which his team qualified for the Final Eight of the Italian Cup and the playoffs: for Spanghero, 6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 19'.
In the summer of 2015 he moved to Verona where, thanks to a series of physical problems, he was unable to leave his mark; in 2016 he moved to Enel Brindisi, in Serie A, where he played 28 games and scored 2.2 points in 11 minutes of use. Over the course of his career he has had many experiences with the national team: he played for the Azzurri in Under16, Under18, Under20 and in the experimental national team of 2014.
