Let's plant the future: the solidarity initiative of the Tortona and Derthona schools
The territory and social initiatives at the center of everything. This is the mission of 'We plant the future', a project strongly supported by Derthona Basket in collaboration with the sponsor Riccoboni Holding and aimed at all Tortona schools of all levels.
Presented in May 2021 and launched during the school year. 2021/2022, 'We plant the future' intends to animate dialogue between educational institutions, also encouraging the exchange of good practices. This was the case on the occasion of the Christmas solidarity initiative which saw many groups involved in collecting food and basic necessities for the neediest. At the beginning of December, some players from the first team launched an appeal to students in some classes to encourage the donation of products.
The result was exciting because, in addition to the precious donations traditionally made by the various schools, new institutes also participated for the first time in the solidarity initiative, increasing the resources allocated to those in difficulty.
Wednesday 19 January Chris Mortellaro, a first team player, went, together with representatives of some schools, to the Diocesan Caritas e at the Misericordia Solidarity Emporium to deliver personal and home hygiene products, final act of theChristmas initiative.
Derthona Basket, always attentive to promoting initiatives with a strong social value in the area, welcomed and participated in this project with great enthusiasm, with the hope and intention of being able to give life to other moments of solidarity in the near future.
