Let's plant the future: Derthona Basket meets the school directors to present the season's initiatives

On Thursday 17 November 2022, in the auditorium of the Santachiara Institute, Derthona Basket met with the school directors of the Tortona area and the Lower Scrivia Valley to present the proposals relating to the 2022/23 season.

Thus officially begins the second edition of the PiantiAMO il Futuro project, with which the basketball club intends to animate educational activities aimed at students, encouraging cooperation between institutions.

The activities range from face-to-face meetings with first team athletes and coaches, to training sessions on Agenda 2030 topics, up to aggregation experiences.

The fight against climate change, financial education, art and sport... these are some of the themes that will engage students of schools of all levels, from primary to first and second level secondary schools.

To promote social inclusion and break down the barriers of discrimination, the "Wheelchair Basketball" proposal is being defined, which will allow some young people to play a match together with disabled athletes from professional clubs.

On 3 April 2023, the schools will gather in the squares, shouting "Sport can change the world", to share thoughts and messages of Peace, reflecting on the value of Sport in promoting the culture of tolerance and respect between the peoples.

Present at the meeting were: the CEO of Derthona Basket, Ferencz Bartocci who thanked the managers for the journey undertaken together and the timely and constant attention to the company's initiatives, the General Manager of BC Castelnuovo, Alice Pedrazzi, Cristina Montagnoli , Director of the Santachiara Institute, Maria Rita Marchesotti, Director of the Peano High School, Rita Piazza, Director of the IC Tortona B, accompanied by the vice principal Maria Luisa Bitetti; Gaetano Mallia, DS of the Lower Valle Scrivia Comprehensive Institute, accompanied by the vice-principal Maura Mandirola; Marzio Rivera, Director of the Viguzzolo Comprehensive Institute; the principal of the San Giuseppe Institute, Enrica Granaglia; Laura Montecucco Director of Ciofs-Tortona; Sara Corsico delegated by Guido Rosso, Director of the Marconi-Carbone Institute.

The municipal administration of Tortona also participated in the meeting, with the lawyer Corrado D'Andrea, manager of the Personal and Community Services Sector - accompanied by Daniela Raschia.
