Phil Greene IV is the first foreigner
Phil Greene IV is the first foreign Orsi Derthona Basket player for the 2/2016 A17 West Group tournament. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 24, 1992, a 188 cm guard, Greene comes from Banvit Bandirma Kirmizi, a club with which he finished the Turkish TBL-2 last year with 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. After high school and a season of training at the famous IMG Academy, Greene entered the NCAA planet with the jersey of St. John's, the famous college in Queens, New York. Under the guidance of coach Steve Lavin, Greene played in 121 of the 130 games played in the four years of college, finishing the last season averaging 13 points on 42% from the field and 39% from 3 points. In the summer of 2015, after having participated in several tryouts with NBA teams and having played the Summer League in Las Vegas with the Toronto Raptors shirt, Greene signed a contract with Banvit in Turkey, from which he was transferred to the satellite club of the Banvit Bandirma Kirmizi, in TBL-2.
