Cantine Volpi was born in Tortona in 1914. Since then, through 5 generations it has become a point of reference in the Piedmontese wine sector, an authentic expression of the Colli Tortonesi territory.

A company that has always been oriented towards innovation: between the 70s and 90s with the Cortese Doc dei Colli Tortonesi it established itself in Italy as the main protagonist in the launch of the 'natural sparkling white wine', a forerunner of the global successes of Prosecco and of Franciacorta. In the same period he brought the Barrique to the cellar and started the production and marketing of Vino Novello. In the 90s it was among the first wineries to decisively embrace the choice of organic in large numbers, which today represents 70% of production.

With the acquisition in 2003 of Cascina Agricola “La Zerba” https://www.cantinevolpi.it/index.php/it/azienda-agricola-la-zerba-it of Volpedo, the company completes the process of strong roots in the Colli Tortonesi area. The viticulture activity also began with the production of Colli Tortonesi DOC Barbera Superiore and Colli Tortonesi DOC Timorasso – Derthona which received international awards and recognition.

Today the family is represented by Carlo Volpi. In addition to his wife Laura, in 2020 the fifth generation, represented by his son Marco, also joined the company. Together the family leads a company that produces over 3 million bottles, exporting 90% of them to around 35 countries around the world.
