Excellent third place for the U17 Eccellenza at the PBP Tournament in Parma
A tournament on the rise that ended on the podium. This is the path with which the Bertram Derthona Under 17 Excellence team successfully closed out their experience at the first PBP Tournament in Parma , finishing in third place . After losing their debut match to FIPP Pordenone , the team coached by Luca Ansaloni bounced back by beating both Fortitudo Bologna and Virtus Bologna in the final matches of the two-day tournament at the PalaCiti . The young Bianconeri prevailed with a 30-point lead over their peers Fortitudo in the second and final match of the group stage, securing second place in their Silver group, and then defeated Virtus Bologna in the 3rd/4th place match. With the Parma tournament concluded, the Bianconeri U17s are now focusing on their league debut against Basket Torino, scheduled for home on Saturday, October 9th at 6:00 PM at the PalaCamagna in Tortona.
STATEMENTS “ The tournament was another opportunity to observe what our players are currently capable of and what path to take to best develop their potential. There were some indications, and we hope to be able to build on them fruitfully in the coming weeks, ” commented coach Ansaloni . “ The satisfaction of having beaten both Fortitudo and Virtus? These victories have relative value, to be contextualized in the current state of the season and the importance of even a very respectable tournament. Just as the defeat against Pordenone wasn't dramatic, these two victories shouldn't excite us. The important thing is that we received positive signals from everyone .”
Derthona Baketball Lab president Andrea Ablatico said : " What we demonstrated in Parma is a concrete testament to the quality of this group. It's certainly a great satisfaction to have played at the same level as clubs that have been pursuing a certain type of path for years, so I congratulate those who have managed to make the group competitive in such a short time."
