Derthona Bears – Hyères Toulon 64-77
TORTONA . After nearly two weeks of training, Derthona played their first game of the season yesterday against the French club Hyeres Toulon, newly promoted to the French Pro A. Coach Cavina chose the starting five of Cosey, Green IV, Reati, Garri, and Giampaolo Ricci. Although it's the end of August, the Tortona crowd responded well, with approximately two hundred spectators at the PalaCamagna. The Lions applied themselves defensively against the French team's greater physicality, and in attack they relied primarily on perimeter shooting. The match ended 77-64 for Toulon (20-24, 13-19, 18-18, 13-16). The next friendly match is Wednesday at 6:30 pm against Varese at the PalaCamagna, while on Friday, September 2nd and Saturday, September 3rd, a four-team tournament will take place in Cortina with Cortina Basket Week, Scaligera Verona, Virtus Bologna, and Universo Treviso Basket.
