Openjobmetis Varese-Bertram Derthona: the previous ones in Serie A and the former ones of the match

Openjobmetis Varese-Bertram Derthona: the previous ones in Serie A and the former ones of the match

It's time for the third day of Serie A at Bertram Derthona: the team trained by coach Ramondino is preparing to take the field in one of the most prestigious fields of the championship, the 'Lino Oldrini' stadium in Varese, to face the renewed Openjobmetis Varese in the match that will close the round of the tournament. The match is scheduled for 20.30pm.

Sunday's match will be the fifth in Serie A between the two teams: at the moment the balance of precedents is gracious for the Bianconeri, capable of imposing themselves on three of the four occasions in which the two teams have faced each other in the top division.

The balance of the matches played so far at the Palasport in Varese is in perfect parity (1-1): in the match of the 2021/22 first round came the only success achieved so far by the Lombards (85-76), at the end of forty minutes in which the team then coached by Adriano Vertemati led from start to finish. The match played in Varese last year was very exciting, decided by a free throw by Semaj Christon at the end (88-89) and following a great comeback by Bertram in the last set (break of 15-27).

Very high scores instead in the two matches played in Casale and both won by Derthona: the 104 points scored by the Lions in April 2022 still constitute the maximum in Serie A achieved by the Juventus team. On that occasion, Mike Daum scored his career high (33 points) in Italy. In 2022/23, a great show on the pitch: Bertram won 103-91 at the end of a largely contested match.

Among the former players of the match, the Varese roster includes Leonardo Okeke, still recovering from the injury suffered last season, who was part of the Bertram Derthona roster in the 2022/23 pre-season. Among the ranks of Derthona, however, Arthur Strautins he wore the Varese tank top in 2020/21.

The two teams are tied on 2 points in the standings, with one victory and one defeat each in their first two Serie A outings of the season.
