Today the debut in Serie C Gold: the 2022/23 Derthona Basket youth championships begin at the Biella Forum
The day has arrived for the official debut of a Derthona Basketball Lab team in the 2022/23 championships . At 8:30 PM , in the fascinating setting of the Biella Forum , it will be the turn of the Serie C Gold team formed by the U19 Eccellenza Bianconero group to inaugurate the Derthona Basket youth season. The first game of the Liguria-Piedmont single group of the top regional championship will be played on the Biella court, against the home team Teens Basket Biella , who start with a one-point penalty in the standings. The game will be streamed live on the Teens Basket Biella Facebook page.
This is the first of 26 overall matches of the regular season in which this 14-team tournament is divided, whose Italian-style formula with round-trip matches provides access to the playoffs for the top eight classified with three promotions to the new Interregional championship and no relegation for the 2023/24 single Serie C lineup.
Bertram Yachts Tortona, coached by Federico Tosarelli, approaches the tournament with the knowledge that they will be competing against the tough world of seniors, from which they can learn useful elements for the individual and team growth of a group largely fresh from the splendid achievement of reaching the U17 Excellence National Finals last June and who are preparing to put these lessons to good use in the U19 Excellence tournament which will begin in three days, with the away match on Tuesday at 21 pm on the CUS Torino parquet.
STATEMENTS Coach Tosarelli: “ The goal for this championship is definitely to help the players grow, improving them practice after practice, match after match. The C Gold championship is important from this point of view, it allows our players to start playing in a senior environment, an added value compared to competing against their peers in the U19 Eccellenza. We're coming into this match after a few good weeks of training; we've played three friendlies, all three of which were positive, which have provided good indications and good ideas to work on during training. All the players are working well, with great commitment, with great seriousness, so we're ready for this start of the championship . ”
