Derthona's first trip to Sicily was bitter, as they were defeated by Moncada Agrigento 84-70 in the eleventh round of the regular season. After three quarters of great balance, in which the Bianconeri had managed to recover the vehement start of the hosts, giving way to a truly exciting clash, Derthona was unable to stem the impetus with which the Sicilians opened the fourth period.
Slowed down more in its offensive phase than in defense, Orsi gave way to a Moncada capable of showing greater size (35-26 per rebound) and her own offensive potential. In the central part of the fourth period, Buford, Evangelisti and De Laurentiis scored the baskets that decided the match (66-57 in the 36th minute); in the end it was then Zugno, with eight consecutive points, who allowed Moncada to extend to the final 84-70.
For the Bianconeri there is no time to think: after the return journey, scheduled for Friday morning, captain Garri and his teammates will meet in the gym already in the afternoon.
