Moncada Agrigento 86 Orsi Tortona 80
The first defeat of the season arrives for coach Cavina's boys punished by an 8-0 run when they were ahead 80-78 with two minutes to go. Coach Ciani starts with Saccaggi, Martin, Evangelisti, Chiarastella and Eatherton, while Cavina still focuses on Spissu, Marks, Reati, Brooks and Garri. After a balanced start, the Bianconeri Americans built their first lead with a 7-0 followed by an immediate Sicilian counterbreak; the game continually changes hands, then Saccaggi and Eatherton close the first quarter at 22-18 after a 10-0 break for the home team. In the second period, it was Agrigento's turn to suffer the Piedmontese defensive intensity: with Ammannato leading the center of the area, the Bianconeri returned to the game while Reati and Saccaggi supported their centers in offensive actions, thus re-establishing the balance, and the teams held high the intensity until the end of the quarter ended at 39 all. Upon returning to the field, the situation does not change: the teams respond blow for blow while still maintaining high percentages from the field. This time, however, a glimmer of hope opens up in favor of the hosts who sign the first +10 of the match thanks to a partial score of 11 scored entirely by Martin and Eatherton; Tortona tries to get back into the game, but Agrigento controls well and at the third siren we are at 68-58. The game seems to have found a master but in Tortona's worst moment, the defense rises and Garri and Spissu produce a 10-2 partial that brings the game to 70 equal with 6′ from the end. The match remains point for point until the end: then with 2 minutes left Saccaggi scores the two heaviest triples of the match and on Ammannato's two shooting errors he earns free throws which close the score at 86-80.
