Guido Ghisolfi Memorial

Guido Ghisolfi Memorial

The first edition of the Guido Ghisolfi Memorial ended with the Orsi Derthona – Manital Torino final. The event, which saw Turin's victory over our boys 78-66, was a notable success both in terms of audience (around 1800 spectators in the two days at Palaoltrepo) and technical results, given the depth of the teams present (in addition to the aforementioned Manital and Orsi, Armani Jeans Milano and Tezenis Verona - who ranked third and fourth respectively at the end of a hard-fought "final") to reward the organizational effort of the new DS D'Orta and all the staff.

On Saturday, a friendly match was also held between the Under 16s of Tortona and Milan, which ended with a clear success for the guests, despite the encouraging performance of Giovanni Noli's young Bianconeri.

Sunday's final was based on the initial sprint of coach Bechi's Turin team who, once they had established the lead at 20-11 in the first part of the match, managed the match (42-31 at half-time) riding the good performances of Ebi, Dawkins and White, legitimizing the difference in category despite Brooks on the shields for the Bianconeri. Also worth highlighting is the good performance of Bianchi who shot 4/4 in 24 minutes on the pitch.

Another busy week is upon us for Derthona, with the friendly match in Casalpusterlengo on Wednesday before the Legnano tournament next weekend, to perfect the preparation and amalgam of coach Cavina's team.
The only flaw was the slight injury to captain Simoncelli in Saturday's semi-final against Armani Jeans, which jeopardized his use in the final against Turin.
