Excellent performance by Bertram in the Bertolazzi Memorial final: the Bianconeri, still without Spizzichini and Ndoja, confirm the progress that had already emerged in yesterday's match against Ravenna both in terms of defensive intensity and the fluidity of offensive solutions. In the final, Varese's greater athletic and physical quality, due to the difference in category, and the freshness that coach Pansa's team lacked due to the forcefully shortened rotations, allowed Openjobmetis to win the tournament. In the first quarter Varese started better and, driven by two three-point baskets from Tambone, found the first lead at 9-2: Bertram's reaction was entrusted to baskets from Knowles and Alibegovic, who reduced the gap in the first half. The balance on the pitch between the two teams continues until the first siren, when a triple from Ferrero gives Caja's team the advantage (27-25). In the second set, the increase in defensive pressure and great offensive fluidity allowed coach Pansa's team to take the lead and expand their margin to 40-34 in the 15th minute. The slight drop in the Bianconeri's shooting percentages allows Openjobmetis to make a new overtaking thanks to Archie and Tambone: at half-time Varese leads 51-44. Even in the third quarter the great balance in the match continues and both teams continue to favor three-point shots, driven by great percentages: after the first thirty minutes Varese leads 73-66. The 7-0 partial with which Openjobmetis began the last quarter was worth the maximum advantage in the match for Caja's team (80-66 at 32'): in the last minutes Bertram's reaction arrived, but Varese achieved the triumph in the Memorial Bertolazzi for 97-77.
