Big challenge for the Lions on Monday 23 December: Olimpia Milano arrives at Camagna

The Under18 DNG Championship represents the maximum expression of national youth basketball.

Derthona Basket is placed in the north/western group, flanked by undoubtedly renowned teams such as Cantù, Varese, Moncalieri, Biella, Casale and Olimpia Milano. The latter will be our boys' opponents on the evening of Monday 23 December, at 20pm, at the Camagna in Tortona. At stake is the concrete hope of qualifying for the Interzone, a preamble to the highly coveted National Category Finals.

Olivieri's boys, 3 days after the end of a stratospheric first round, are in third place behind Cantù and Moncalieri, with a 4 point advantage over the Milanese red and whites. Winning will be very difficult, but it would mean placing a serious claim on a final placing which would represent the best result of the Corso Alessandria club since 1986 (since the days of Tava and Barabino, so to speak).
