The Under 16s finished seventh at the 6th MoM Memorial Tournament 'Federica Spaggiari Malinverni'
Intense start to the year for the Under 16 team coached by Alessio Gaudio: the Lions took part in the 6th MoM Tournament 'Memorial Federica Spaggiari Malinverni' played in Parma from 3 to 5 January 2019: for the Bianconeri it was an important occasion of comparison with some of the best youth teams in Italy. Derthona finished the tournament in seventh place, below is the outcome of the various matches played.

Defeat for the Juventus team in the first match of the tournament: after a very balanced first half, which Cremona closed with a 3-point lead, it was the greater defensive aggression put on the field by the Lombard team that made the difference in the second half. The finale rewards Vanoli, who triumphs 69-84.

Derthona also fell in the second match of Group A, which saw the Bianconeri against the hosts Magik Basket Parma. The Emilians reached a double-digit lead in the second quarter, before suffering a comeback from the Lions. In the point-to-point final, a couple of offensive plays allowed Parma to win 78-74.

The Juventus team also falls at the end in the third match of Group A: after Virtus' sprint start (27-17 at 10'), the Lions raise the intensity of their defense and find good offensive solutions, going into halftime with the lead by two points. Victory for the Juventus team in the 7th-8th place final of the Mom Tournament: the Bianconeri start off strong, reaching a double-digit lead already at the end of the first quarter (15-26). In the following periods, Brescia reacted, taking the lead in the final period: after the time-out called by coach Gaudio, the Bianconeri reacted and won 70-77.
