De Raffaele's staff: Squarcina the new face, Talpo and Rabbolini confirmed

First days of work in Tortona for Walter De Raffaele, new coach of the first team who directed the first training session yesterday and was presented to the media today. In today's press conference, the technical staff that will accompany the new head coach in this new experience was also announced: alongside him the new entry is Iacopo Squarcina, which joins the confirmed Vanni Talpo and Edoardo Rabbolini.

Born in Turin in 1988, Squarcina took his first steps in the mini-basketball sector of K2 Torino and Basket Venaria as assistant coach of the Under 15 Women's team. In Venaria he reached three consecutive national finals, before moving to PMS Moncalieri, where he remained for the next five years, dealing with both the youth sector and the first team.

After two seasons (from 2016 to 2018) as assistant coach in Serie B, he moved to Montegranaro, in A2, joining Cesare Pancotto's staff. The Marche team finished the regular season in third place and was eliminated by Bergamo in the playoff quarter-finals.

In the following two years, Squarcina is in Biella: in the first year, the team occupies sixth place in the West Group at the time of the interruption of the championship due to Covid-19, while in 2020/21 the new Juventus assistant becomes head coach of the team and leads her to salvation.

Since 2021, Iacopo Squarcina has been part of the technical staff of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, first with Sergio Scariolo and then with Luca Banchi. In his seasons in Bologna, as assistant and coach in charge of video analysis, Squarcina won the Italian Super Cup three times and the EuroCup once.

Over the years, Iacopo has also been part of the staff of the Under 14 and Under 20 national teams. Now he arrives at Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.

Vanni Talpo and Edoardo Rabbolini are confirmed in Walter De Raffaele's technical staff. Talpo thus continues his seventh season in the technical staff of the Juventus first team, while Rabolini continues the path he began in the summer within the Club.
