“After the good victory in Varese, we close the first round by facing the two strongest teams in the championship, starting with Virtus Segafredo Bologna coached by Sergio Scariolo, one of the most successful Italian coaches ever with the clubs and with the Spanish national team. It is a team that needs no introduction: it has been at the top in Italy for years and has proven to be so in Europe too, winning the EuroCup last year and participating in the EuroLeague.
The playmakers are three Italian players, two of which are part of the national team: Hackett, struggling with some physical problems that cause him to miss the match against Barcelona, Pajola and Mannion. They have different characteristics but manage to give a precise imprint to Virtus' game. The guards are Teodosic, perhaps the most talented player in the championship, Lundberg, who can also act as a point guard, and Belinelli, who needs no introduction and can play both as a '2' and as a '3'.
Weems, who has been in Bologna for several years, alternates as small forward, Ojeleye, who can also play as the '4' and who had had an excellent impact before the injury, and Cordinier, currently recovering from an injury.
