Coach Galli's corner – Umana Reyer Venice

After the fourth consecutive success in the championship, obtained in Trieste, Bertram Derthona is preparing to challenge theUmana Reyer Venice, one of the greats of Serie A in recent years, on Sunday 30 October at 17.30pm at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris. This is the presentation of the challenge by assistant coach Massimo Galli:

“After the victory in Trieste, we face Venice, a Club of which I had the pleasure of being part for two years, which on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its foundation has set up a team of the highest level. Alongside the core of historic players, he has included elements from EuroLeague teams (Granger, Spissu) or used to playing very important competitions (Willis, Freeman).

Jayson Granger, a veteran from Baskonia, alternates in the role of playmaker, Marco Spissu who is the national team playmaker returning from a great year at Unics Kazan and Andrea De Nicolao, a guarantee of solidity. Alongside them is Allerik Freeman, a shooter who is good at making shots off the dribble and who already hurt us in the Lovari Tournament against Lucca. Like 2-3 Venezia has Moraschini, who comes from a year of inactivity, Bramos, historic player and excellent shooter, is the '3'.

In the role of '4' are Derek Willis, who was launched by Brindisi, played an excellent season in Badalona and I believe he will also confirm himself in Venice, and Jeff Brooks, a reliable player. Under the basket Mitchell Watt needs no introduction; his replacement is Tessitori, an area athlete. The sixth foreigner is Sima, who replaces Parks, who has been out due to injury for over a month.

A difficult match awaits us, in which we will have to play with great attention and determination for all forty minutes."
