Coach Galli – Givova Scafati's corner

Bertram Derthona's last away match of 2022 is approaching, and they will challenge the Givova Scafati Sunday 18 December at 20.30pm at the Beta Ricambi Arena. Presenting the characteristics and individualities of the next opponents was, as usual, the assistant coach Massimo Galli:

“Like two weeks ago in Verona, we are going to play on the pitch of a newly promoted team. Scafati is a team in great form, fresh from three consecutive victories, including the latest obtained on the pitch of Virtus Segafredo Bologna. Leading Givova is Attilio Caja, a championship veteran who, right from the start, showed the qualities he has.

In the control room is Julyan Stone, a player I know very well having coached him for two years in Venice. He is a 2 meter playmaker, a great defender and team player. The guard is David Logan, who needs no introduction: he is an excellent three-point shooter. Lamb plays as a small forward, last year in Pesaro, and Rossato, who after the A2 victory managed to carve out a role for himself in Serie A too.

The starting '4' is Pinkins, already seen in Italy in Casale Monferrato and Turin: energetic player, gifted with excellent hands and athleticism. Completing the quintet is Thompson, who is good at doing all the things the team needs.

Two Italians come off the bench like Monaldi, who I know having coached him for four years between Chieti and Pesaro, and De Laurentiis, former matchday player, who ensure depth in case of need, and Okoye, who plays both as '3' and '4' and he has already been seen in Italy especially in Varese, where he was trained by Caja. The seventh foreigner on the roster, who can enter the rotations, is Butjankovs."
