The youth team week: on Saturday the big dance of the C Gold playoffs, good results for U15, U13 and rookies between Memorial Papini and Torneo Langhe Roero
Between the great anticipation of C Gold's debut in the playoffs and the beautiful experiences between the Memorial Papini and the Langhe Roero Tournament. This is how we lived the last week of Derthona Basketball Lab. The Derthona Basket youth sector is waiting for the quarter-final of the playoffs top regional senior championship against the number two seed BC Serravalle, a best-of-five series which will celebrate game 1 away on Saturday, but in the meantime with U15 Excellence, U13 Gold and the mini-basketball of the Debutant he achieved great satisfaction in the tournaments played during the long weekend of April 25th.
Out of sixteen teams from all over Italy theU15 achieved an important 4th place in the prestigious Claudio Papini Memorial di Rimini, with the satisfaction of the full-score victory in their qualifying group over Basket Sestri, Urania Academy Milano and Virtus Padova and the passage to the Final Four. There the race was interrupted with the double knockout in the semi-final against Basket Cervia Cesenatico, then winner of the tournament, and at the hands of Blu Orobica Bergamo in the final for 3rd place. Werther Bellinaso was the best Juventus scorer of the tournament with 16.4 points per game.
In Langhe Roero Tournament di Alba theU13 – fresh from the first success in the second phase of the championship with the blitz in overtime on the ABA Saluzzo field – and the Debutant (in the photo, at the table together with the U13s) were the protagonists of a similar path to each other. Both teams came second in the four-way group of the elimination phase and won the subsequent semi-final 5th/8th place, the oldest team then obtaining the sixth final position with the defeat against the hosts Pall. Farigliano and the Rookies placed fifth with a success on points in front of Scaligera Verona (after the draw in the count of victories of the six halves).
The appointment with the first joy of the interregional phase for theU17 Excellence, forced to surrender on the Pall field. Varese vice leaders of Group H. On Monday 1st May the possibility of moving the rankings with the "play-off" between bottom players at the home of Sporting Club Oderzo.
