The week of the Juventus youth teams: the U17 Eccellenza stops its magical moment, the U19 Eccellenza gets its top five
The bitter stop of the U17 Eccellenza, the five achieved by the U19 Eccellenza, the positive streak that also continues for the U13 Silver. Good confirmations but also an unexpected stop from the last week of the championship youth of Bertram Yachts Derthona.
THEU19 she does not betray the prediction and continues in her excellent regular season finale in the single Ligurian-Piedmontese group, also causing some regret for the results obtained previously which excluded her early from the fight for the positions that count. At PalaCamagna comes the fifth consecutive success of the boys coached by Luca Ansaloni, with minimal effort the success against Collegno Basket, a +15 (76-61) which with three games to go also means reaching sixth place in the standings of Basket Torino, favored, however, by the direct clash to their advantage in the event of a tie between two teams.
The "manita" of the older ones is counterbalanced by the first stop in the second "Top" phase of theU17. Ansaloni's team loses their unbeaten record and does so at home thanks to TNA San Mauro Basket, a fall that hurts both because it was only certified at the sound of the siren after extra time and against an opponent who had half of the rankings points for the Bianconeri (and with one more match played). Instead, a very hard-fought match emerged, and even a little heated in tone in the fiery final, which called into question the dreams of glory of the Tortona boys, no longer alone at the top of the table but caught up in the fray of the other three teams with only one defeat to their credit, College Basketball Borgomanero, Novipiù Campus Piemonte and Pall. Vado, opponent on Sunday afternoon in the fundamental direct clash in Liguria so as not to leave the "magnificent three" who will advance to the phases that count for the national title.
One win and one loss in the week of the other Eccellenza team, theU15, who in the first match against JB Monferrato did not learn from his previous mistakes and after an encouraging first quarter was lost in a day in which none of the teams shone in attack, as demonstrated by the eloquent 51-53 final, while in the second went away easily against Biella Next (89-53), against whom they "avenged" the indigestible comeback defeat in the first leg.
Speaking of low scores, everything went even worse'U19 Silver, who did not approach the second phase of the "Top 4" group well, losing badly at AB Carmagnola with just 39 points on the scoresheet. Instead, the path ofU13 Silver also in the second phase of the "Top" group, leaving a 21 point gap in Moncalieri to a Kangaroos Sport who had not yet experienced defeats in this second part of the tournament. For coach Stefano Cova's "terrible kids", this is the ninth victory in ten seasonal matches.
