National Tree Day: Derthona and Riccoboni united for the territory
The earth and plants at the center of everything. With an important eye for the territory. Derthona Basketball e Riccoboni Holding, the Club's jersey sponsor, continue to promote together 'We plant the future', an initiative that started in May 2021 and which also involves the Municipality of Tortona and local schools.
The two companies have chosen a special date to give continuity to the shared project: Sunday 21 November, National Trees Day. In fact, a delegation from the Club participated in the completion of the planting of 32 trees, which are added to two planted last May, during the presentation event of 'PiantiAMO il futuro'. This date was also chosen because it is considered optimal for irrigation and rooting.
Le 34 plants total are equal to the number of points obtained by Derthona in the regular season of the 2020/21 season, which then ended with the first historic promotion to Serie A at the end of the playoff final won against Reale Mutua Torino.
Now that the planting has been completed, the school complexes of the city of Tortona and the surrounding areas will also come into play, carrying out teaching and educational activities on the theme of environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
The trees that Riccoboni Holding and Derthona Basket they donated to the city they are testimony to how much the Club and its sponsors pay attention to the promotion of the territory and its excellence.
