Bertram gets stronger: Andrea Casella is a new Leo
Bertram Yachts Derthona announces that it has reached an agreement with Andrew Casella, a player born in 90 who played last season with the Bergamo shirt.
CAREER – Born in Pisa on 22 September 1990, Casella began his career in the youth sector of GMV Ghezzano, while his first senior experience – in 2007/08 – was in Lucca, playing in Serie B2. The following season he moved to Livorno, where he wore the jersey of the first team in Legadue and that of Don Bosco in the youth sector, contributing to the achievement of the Under 19 National Finals.
In the following two years Andrea played in the A Dilettanti championship, first in Ozzano (with which he achieved access to the promotion playoffs) and later in that of Agrigento. In 2012/13 he signed for Cantù, in Serie A, winning the Italian Super Cup, a success achieved thanks to the triumph against Mens Sana Siena 80-73 in the final played in Rimini on 22 September 2015.
He then returned to Legadue in 2012/13 wearing the shirt of Morpho Bakery Piacenza, while the following year he accepted Veroli's proposal: with the Lazio team, coached by Marco Ramondino and with Ferencz Bartocci in the role of General Manager (now reunited by Casella in Tortona), the guard/winger played a high-level championship and reached the promotion playoffs.
In 2014/15 he returned to Serie A, accepting the proposal from Pallacanestro Varese; in the last four years he has played in Serie A2 Old Wild West, first in Omegna, then in Mantua and Siena and finally in Bergamo, where last year he contributed to reaching the Final Eight of the Italian Cup (lost at the hands of Treviso, then winners, in semi-final) and the promotion playoffs, which ended with the 3-0 elimination at the hands of Capo d'Orlando in the semi-final.
Casella also wore the shirt of the Under 20 National Team and the Experimental National Team. Now he comes to Bertram Yachts Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
Andrea Casella will be presented to the press and fans at the event which will be held tomorrow, Friday 13 December 2019, at 17.30 pm at the Punto Fuoco Tortona headquarters (Via Giancarlo Pernigotti 33).
