Bertram returns to the friendly parquet of Casale Monferrato hosting Sassari tomorrow. Coach De Raffaele's words on the eve
Bertram Derthona will return to play tomorrow at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris in Casale Monferrato, more than twenty days after the last time. After the postponed match in Bologna and the double joy of Trapani and Lisbon, the black and white team returns as home team to host Banco di Sardegna Sassari, in the match scheduled for 17:30 for the sixth day of the Serie A Unipol, before starting to travel again next week with the double away match along the Via Emilia at the home of Virtus Segafredo Bologna and UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia.
SELF-GIFTS: Six wins in seven games this season. The only defeat came when they missed a last-second shot in extra time. A Champions League first half of the season, they finished alone at the top of the table. A final, grueling away game in Trapani, which ended in glory, and their first European trip of the year, which also ended in triumph against Benfica, all in the space of just over 72 hours during the final week of matches. At the start of this season, Bertram could hardly have given a better gift to their club, which celebrated its 69th birthday yesterday, exactly one day after that of their coach, Walter De Raffaele.
THE OPPONENT : Derthona will face Sassari in a strong performance. The Sardinians also came off a successful continental campaign this week in the FIBA Europe Cup, a competition that is giving Dinamo much more satisfaction than in Serie A, where they have only one win (at home against Napoli on matchday three) against four losses, at home against Scafati, in Milan and Brescia, and in the last home match against league leaders Trento (81-84). Looking from the bottom, this is a record for second-to-last place in the standings, alongside Scafati, Cremona, Varese, and Treviso, which is not in line with the potential of the roster coached for the second year by Bosnian Nenad Markovic, who has guard Brian Fobbs as the top offensive threat (17.2 points average, 10th in Serie A) and a renowned pairing of great quality and experience in Eimantas Bendzius and Michal Sokolowski. The Serie A championship record between the two teams is perfectly balanced at 3-3, with the Sardinians capable of winning two of their three matches in Casale but suffering the same treatment from the Bianconeri on the island.
INFIRMARY For Tommaso Baldasso and Andrea Zerini, both absent in Portugal due to physical problems, their conditions will be reevaluated close to the match to decide whether or not they will return for tomorrow.
QUOTES “Sassari is a team with a lot of offensive talent, with the ability to score a lot of points in a short time, especially by playing with two smaller players in the open court, and making extensive use of the three-point shot with Bibbins, Sokolowski, Cappelletti, and Bendzius himself ,” is coach De Raffaele 's analysis of the opponents . “They're a complete team that, in my opinion, is underperforming. Containing one-on-one situations and the ability to break up their rhythm to force them to play as many long possessions as possible will be very important .” On the positive moment of his own team: “This is a Derthona that is trying to grow, to understand what kind of team it is in the midst of varying performances. Above all, the most important thing is that Derthona is trying to grow as a team as a whole, beyond the performances of individuals in the various games.”
DERTHONA BASKET AGAINST BULLYING. During the pre-game warm-up, the Juventus players will wear special pink shorts. The initiative is to promote the film "The Boy with the Pink Pants," which supports the fight against bullying . The film, produced by Eagle Pictures and Weekend Films, is directed by Margherita Ferri and stars Claudia Pandolfi. The film's trailer will be shown on the arena's big screen before and during the game.
