Sprint victory for Bertram Derthona who, in the first outing of the new signings Lydeka and Bertone, achieved an important success on the Mens Sana Siena field at the end of a largely conducted match resolved by a triple from Blizzard 12 seconds from the siren. The start of the match sees Bertone and Lydeka, Bertram's two new signings, as protagonists: on the other side, Poletti and Pacher are Mens Sana's offensive references in the first balanced minutes of the match. The good fluidity of the Bianconeri's defensive rotations creates difficulties for the home team's attack: it is a lay-up basket by Bertone, after a recovered ball, that forces coach Moretti to stop the game (13-16 at 7'). Sanguinetti's triple and Viglianisi's basket then close the first ten minutes: Derthona leads 16-20. The balance between the two teams continues in the second period too: after the visitors' maximum advantage (18-25 with Spizzichini's triple) Siena comes back into contact thanks to a 5-0 score scored by Poletti-Ranuzzi. In the following minutes the two teams produce partials and counterpartials that move the score: the first half is closed by Bertone's basket, which sends Bertram ahead 38-40 at the interval. Even in the third period the Bianconeri maintained a slight margin of advantage, in a match characterized by continuous breaks by both teams: the period ended at 56-60, after Ndoja's three-point basket in the last offensive action of the Bianconeri in the partial. The balance on the pitch also continues in the last quarter, with the two teams capable of finding important baskets to respond to the opponents' attempts to reach forward: the home team then regains parity at 68 (at 36') after free throws by Pacher. Bertram takes the lead again thanks to two penetrating baskets by Bertone (70-74 with 1'30” to go). Siena takes the lead again in the match (76-74) thanks to two triples by Marino and Morais - the latter 21 seconds from the siren - which force coach Ramondino to stop the game. Coming out of the time-out, Blizzard scores the triple to overtake (76-77): Morais' subsequent lay-up misses the back of the net. Bertram wins 76-77.

Thus coach Ramondino at the end of the match: ʺFor us it is a very important match, almost decisive even though it is only at the beginning of the second half of the season. Our ranking needed to be boosted with a victory: last week we didn't win a good match, while today we won a match played equally well. We alternated excellent plays with trivial errors, but we made the decisive plays in the final both in attack and defense. This match must give us the impetus for the rest of the season, also because if this year we had a particular limitation it was discontinuity: the challenge is to give continuity to performances and results. They are hard-fought matches, we were good and present in the decisive moments of the match, then great players are needed to resolve the important situations of the matches..
