Bertram Derthona Promotes “The Boy in Pink Pants” to Support the Fight Against Bullying
Derthona Basketball takes the field once again against bullying and this time it does so through the cinema screens. The Serie A team of Bertram Derthona will be the leading “actress” in the promotion of the film "The boy with pink pants”, from November 7th at the cinema. On the occasion of the home match on Sunday November 3rd at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris in Casale Monferrato against Bank of Sardinia Sassari, valid for the sixth day of the top championship, the black and white players they will wear some pink shorts during the pre-match warm-up, while the trailer will be shown on the big screen in the arena.
Presented at the Giffoni Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival, directed by the director Margherita Ferri and Produced by Eagle Pictures and Weekend Films with a screenplay by Roberto Proia, the film is inspired by the true story of fifteen-year-old Andrea Spezzacatena, who took his own life on November 20, 2012 after being bullied and cyberbullied by his schoolmates.
Claudia Pandolfi will play the role of Teresa Manes, Andrea's mother, while Corrado Fortuna will play the role of his father.. The protagonist who plays Andrea is the young and talented Samuele Carrino, Andrea Arru It's Christian – the school bully – and Sara Ciocca plays Sara, Andrea's best friend. The trailer song, which will accompany the film's release, is titled “Sing Again”, unreleased song by Arisa he wrote for his mother and which in the film becomes a letter that Andrea dedicates to Teresa.
“What killed Andrea more than bullying was silence.” The words are from the mother Teresa Manes, from whose book “Andrea, oltre il pantalone rosa” the film is freely adapted, which aims to raise awareness about bullying and its consequences, encouraging young people to maintain hope and overcome difficult moments. The central message is that everything can be overcome. And that respect and empathy are fundamental.
