Sprint victory for Bertram Derthona in the quarter-final of the Frecciarossa Final Eight 2023 against Dolomiti Energia Trentino: the team coached by coach Ramondino leads the match in points for large stretches, before suffering the opponent's comeback in the final period. The coolness on the line in the final moments allows the Lions to reach the semi-final, scheduled for Saturday 18 February at 18.00 pm against Virtus Segafredo Bologna.
Balanced first period at the Pala Alpitour: after Trento's strong start, countered by Daum's triples, Bertram overtakes thanks to extra possessions and Christon's plays. At the first siren Leoni ahead 22-16. In the second half the race flows with the same leitmotiv, thanks to the baskets scored by the most talented players of the two teams. Derthona tries to move forward, but Trento responds blow for blow and closes to -2 (38-36) at the interval.

In the first minutes of the final quarter, Bertram managed the margin accumulated, but then Trento with a partial of 0-9 returned to two possessions behind (67-63) in the 37th minute. Trentino's comeback does not stop and gives rise to a sprint finish: after Crawford's triple, which brings the score -2 (72-70) with 18 seconds to go, Filloy's coolness on the line and the subsequent error by Crawford himself they give the victory to Bertram, who wins 74-70.
Thus coach Marco Ramondino at the end of the race: “We are obviously happy with the victory: I think the effort made by the team was really important to get to the bottom of a match in which there were difficulties in gaining rhythm against a high level of physicality and toughness that Trento always offers throughout the match . Several times we tried to shorten the game, forcing plays due to a lack of mental and physical energy for all 24 seconds of each possession. We also had an excellent contribution today from the players who came off the bench. As always, the ranking with which you enter these events matters very little. I believe that pressure is a positive thing, because it places expectations on teams that you have good regard for. Today we were not in a good condition, because we had all the players available but few who were really fit and in rhythm.".
