Home defeat for Bertram Derthona, who chased UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia for the entire first half, overtaking thanks to a great third quarter in attack and defense before suffering the new guest return, which was worth overtime. In the extension, the team coached by Caja finds clear solutions and obtains the two points.

Favorable start to the match for Reggio Emilia, driven by the play of Olisevicius (10 points in the period); Bertram then reacts by increasing the intensity of its defense, ending the first ten minutes trailing 12-16. In the second half, Bertram got even closer, before suffering the new guest attack in the final minutes of the first half: at halftime UNAHOTELS led 36-42.

Upon returning from the locker room, the baskets of Sanders and Macura gave way to an important break in favor of Derthona, who fueled it with great defensive attention and the fluidity of the offensive game. The many well-constructed shots from the bow are rewarded with high percentages (5/6 in the period) and are worth the extension up to 66-57 in the 30th minute. With Tavernelli's four-point play, Bertram tries to give the game a decisive boost, but Reggio Emilia reacts and progressively reduces the gap, returning to just one possession (80-77) 50 seconds from the end with free throws from Hopkins. After Macura's error, Strautins and Wright's free throws keep their distance unchanged. In Reggio's last attack it is Strautins again, with a crazy basket, who ties the game at 82. Wright's last attempt doesn't score: it's overtime.

Once again the team coached by Ramondino started better in extra time, before Cinciarini and Olisevicius produced a mini-partial that was worth +4 (86-90). Cinciarini widens the gap again (88-94) with 70 seconds to go: Derthona time-out. Thompson and Sanders, from three points, move the score and Olisevicius closes the game: Reggio Emilia wins 93-98.

Thus coach Marco Ramondino at the end of the race: ʺCongratulations to Reggio Emilia for tonight's victory. The match was as we expected, during the presentation we had emphasized the importance of the mental aspect, the importance of maintaining the same level of attention throughout the match. We didn't succeed in this and in the first half we made a lot of mistakes, in the second half we improved by building good shots and missing them when we were ahead in the score. In the last minutes of regulation time and in extra time our quality dropped and we committed all those defensive errors that we hadn't made in the forty minutes of regulation. The choice on +3 is to make a foul, but either you have the readiness to commit it early in the action or due to the interpretation on the continuity of shooting that has been there for a couple of years you risk going to make a foul on a shot from three even if the shooting hasn't started yet. Our lack of skill was not being able to do it immediately. If we have to wait for a defeat to learn, it's a problem, in every match we need to make a cynical and surgical analysis beyond the result: our inability to gain rhythm in the first half and the defensive collapse in extra time are linked to a lack of energy physical and mental. We must be good at analyzing the good and less good things beyond the result. Filloy took a blow to the nose, I don't know the extent of the injury.
