The first European adventure in the history of Bertram Derthona ends in Game 2 of the BCL Play-Ins. In Istanbul, the team coached by De Raffaele chased from the start, never managing to complete the comeback despite several attempts made in the forty minutes.

Complex first quarter for Derthona, who suffered a decisive start from Galatasaray, driven by their precision in shooting from outside and by baskets on the counterattack. The home team reached a double-digit lead and closed ahead 26-14 in the 10th minute. In the second half the Turks further widened their gap at the start, before the Juventus reaction. Led by Ross' initiatives and some extra possessions, Derthona gets back under the double-digit gap. The first half is then closed by Radebaugh's triple, which sets the score at 46-34 at the break.

Upon returning from the changing rooms, it is a new outburst from Ross that allows the team coached by De Raffaele to get closer, but Galatasaray - with great clarity - finds good offensive solutions that allow them to maintain a good margin. In the final, with Bost, the home team took the lead to 16 (72-56) at the third buzzer. In the last quarter, Derthona, raising the intensity of their defense, returned to -8 again (79-71) with Obasohan's basket, before Kabaca - from three points - brought Galatasaray's margin back to double figures. The Lions' final comeback stops at -6 (95-89) with which the match ends.

Thus Arthurs Strautins at the end of the race: “Tonight's defeat is tough, even today we showed our character even if we didn't manage to win. We have managed to come back from double-digit deficits several times. The first season in the BCL was good for the Club, we must continue as best we can in the league.".

So coach Walter De Raffaele at the end of the race: “We are not happy with how we concluded our adventure in the BCL, but being honest we must say that Galatasaray deserved to go through. We hoped to have the chance to have another opportunity, but we had a bad impact on a physical level. We managed to get back into the game a couple of times, expending a lot of energy, but we weren't able to score the decisive baskets to close the gap further. I believe that we must have something from all the players, and this does not always happen at the moment: it is necessary that everyone contributes to the best of their ability.".
