Victory for Bertram Derthona in the quarter-final of the LNP Supercup 2019 Old Wild West played against Treviglio at the PalaAgnelli in Bergamo. The Bianconeri lead the game for large stretches, finding the winning baskets towards the end. After Treviglio's initial 5-0, Bertram - led by Gaines - produces a 0-10 partial which gives them the advantage: the favorable moment for the Bianconeri is fueled by Martini and Gražulis, whose basket gives the guest the maximum advantage in the match (8-16 at 7') and forces coach Vertemati to stop the game. At the end of the half, BCC reduced the score to 13-18 in the 10th minute. In the second period, coach Ramondino's team continues to lead the operations and updates the maximum margin with two free throws from Pullazi (18-29 at 16'). In the following minutes the home team got closer - also taking advantage of a technical penalty given to Gaines (third foul) - with baskets from Reati and Borra, which were worth -3 (28-31 at 18'). The first half ends with Derthona leading 30-34. Upon returning from the locker rooms, Treviglio finds good offensive solutions and a series of triples that allow him to overtake (52-47 at 27'): the favorable moment for the hosts continues until the end of the quarter, which the Lombards finish ahead with the score of 60-54. At the start of the last quarter, Bertram scores a 0-7 run that puts them back in the lead (60-61 at 32'): coach Vertemati stops the game. The hosts react to the moment of difficulty by returning to just one point behind (63-64), before a triple from Formenti and two free throws from Mascolo expand the guests' margin again (63-69 in the 37th minute). Caroti brings Treviglio back into contact, Gaines puts two possessions back between the teams (69-73 with 40 seconds to go). In the final Derthona controls the opponent's return and triumphs with a score of 69-76.

Thus the assistant coach Vanni Talpo: ʺWe enjoy the performance and the ability of the boys to react to the partial produced by the opponents in the third quarter. Defensively we paid attention to details, increasing physicality: the patience we had in attack led us to success. We are very happy to access the Final Four and we take home the reaction of our players. The long rotation allows us to arrive at the end with lucid players and have energy in important moments of the matchesʺ.
