Sprint success for Bertram Derthona in the recovery of the 1st day of the West Group of Serie A2 Old Wild West, still without Tavernelli, chases Eurobasket Roma for large stretches of the match before placing the decisive break in the final minutes of the last fraction of the game. First minutes of the match in favor of Eurobasket who, thanks to excellent three-point shooting percentages, produced the first break of the match (12-6 at 3'): in the following minutes the hosts maintained their margin ahead, before Bertram – with Formenti and De Laurentiis – impacts the match at 19 (at 10'). At the start of the second set, the team coached by coach Nunzi once again started better (24-19 at 12'); the Lazio players also lead the match in the next phase of the game, thanks to some turnovers by Derthona which forced coach Ramondino to stop the match at 31-27 in the 16th minute. Five consecutive points from Fanti expand Eurobasket's margin (36-27), who lead the match 41-34 at halftime. Upon returning from the locker rooms, the home team found a double-digit lead, also taking advantage of the unsportsmanlike foul committed against Gaines: free throws from Loschi and Viglianisi made it 48-36 in the 22nd minute. In the following minutes comes the reaction of Bertram, led by Mascolo and Gražulis, who progressively shorten their gap until they reach just one point away (58-57): the fraction is closed by Viglianisi's triple, which is worth 61- 57 for Rome. At the start of the last period, Eurobasket returns to widen the gap: after Fanti's basket (66-59) coach Ramondino interrupts the match. With Martini and Gražulis the guests came back into contact again (69-68 in the 37th minute), before finding the overtaking thanks to Gaines' penetrating basket. Gražulis and Taylor still keep their distances unchanged; a glacial Mascolo then puts full possession (71-74) between the two teams 17 seconds from the siren. Loschi's shot to equalize doesn't go in: Gaines' subsequent 2/2 gives Bertram the victory, which prevails with a score of 71-76.
