Jaye Crockett!!!
The last missing piece also has a name: Jeffrey “Jaye” Crockett.
The identity of the second foreigner from Tortona was therefore revealed and he is a young man leaving Texas Tech University, a college considered to be of a high level both for its study programs and its sports programmes.
Born in 1991, Jaye is presented as a very versatile player capable of playing both as a small forward and as a power forward. Draftexpress, one of the reference sites in the USA, places him at number 70 among the prospects coming out of this university year.
Jaye, despite being young, is already very involved in social work with a foundation "JayeRockAthetics" which aims to allow less fortunate young people to be able to attend school by providing everything they may need.
Coach Cavina is happy “In this negotiation, the will of the player who wants to open a career in Europe was important. From a technical point of view, he can play both as a 4 and a tactical 3. He was the player with the characteristics we were missing and that's why we waited to make the best possible choice."
Jaye instead told us that "he is very happy to have reached an agreement with Tortona. A college friend of mine who played with him (Jackson ed.) spoke to me very well about coach Cavina. Throughout my life I have always lived seeing everything from the point of view of an American citizen so I think this experience will be useful to me not only from a basketball point of view but also as a person."
Jaye played 4 years at Texas Tech with constantly growing numbers so much so that he became one of five players in the history of the university to emerge with at least 1000 points scored, 600 rebounds, 100 assists and 100 steals. Last season Jaye scored 13.9 points and 6,4 rebounds. He shot 51,7 from two (he finished his four university seasons with an average of 50% from two), 31,7 from three and 82,7 from free throws.
Now the new adventure in the Italian championship with Tortona waiting for him with open arms.
