Ismael Kamagate is the new center of Bertram Derthona

Bertram Derthona announces that the agreement has been reached with Ismael Kamagate, French center born in 2001, who arrives on loan from EA7 Emporio Armani Milano until the end of the season.

CAREER – Born in Paris on 17 January 2001 to a family of Ivorian origins, Kamagate started playing basketball at the age of 12 in a small club in Paris. He then moved to Paris-Levallois and subsequently to Orleans, a club where he made his debut at senior level.

In 2019 he moved to Paris Basketball, where he played for the following four seasons. He played the first two years in Pro B, contributing to the championship victory in 2021 with 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds on average. In the following year - 2021/22 - he made his debut in Pro A, recording important numbers (11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game) and being named defender of the year. In 2022/23 Ismael continued to produce significant numbers (9.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing, shooting 75.3% from the field) and played in the French All-Star Game for the second consecutive season. At the same time, in the same year, he debuted in a European competition, the EuroCup, in which he produced 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 17.2 rating per outing, shooting 76.3% from the field (20 games played).

In the summer the French center moved to EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, with which he took the field in both Serie A and the EuroLeague. In the 11 games played in the league, Kamagate scored 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 76.3% from the field, while in the EuroLeague he played 9 games.

In the summer of 2022 Kamagate was selected in the NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and subsequently his rights were exchanged to Denver with whom he played the Summer League in both 2022 and 2023. With the French national team he took the field in the Under 18 European Championships in 2019 and at the Challenger in 2021, while in 2023 he made his debut with the senior national team. Now he comes to Bertram Derthona to start a new chapter in his career.
