Gulliver Derthona, without the injured Josovic and Diodati, was defeated at home to Seagulls Genova in the fifth match played in Division A of the North-West Conference of the Interregional Serie B championship.

Great start for the black and whites who put a mini partial, in the first five minutes, of 5-12 on their opponents thanks to two consecutive triples by Albertinazzi and baskets by Brizzi that induced the opposing coach to call an immediate time-out. After the first quarter concluded in control, the second also began in the wake of the previous one with the Tortona team arriving at a maximum advantage of +8. Towards the middle of the period, with the score at 20-27, the lions suffered - thanks to 7 lost balls - a counter partial of 11-2 by the home team led by Daunys, who brought Genoa to the half-time buzzer with a two-point advantage, 35-33.

The return to the field does not initially lead to upheavals, the home team remains ahead for most of the time until Derthona reacts, with three baskets taking the lead again, before a three-point play by Lomtadze brings the score back to parity at 50-50 in the 30th minute. The last quarter is very balanced with several overtakings in the score until the last minutes, when two turnovers by Tortona, close to the siren, are fatal and put an end to the hopes of the guests, who end the game with the second consecutive defeat and a current record that sees them at 2-3.

Gulliver will return to the field, once again away from home, on Friday 18 October at 20.30pm against Campus Varese.
