Gulliver Derthona was defeated in a very balanced derby against Junior Casale, in the Serie B Interregionale championship, thus remaining on 6 points and unable to close the gap in the standings with Casale.
The first part of the game is very balanced, with both teams in close contact in the overall score, despite various changes of advantage. Second period very similar to the previous one, but Casale has an extra gear compared to the hosts, and dragged by the 12 points in the quarter of Di Giuliomaria, they go to the locker rooms with the result of 30-34.
Upon returning to the field, the black and white team inflicts a 6-0 partial, regaining the lead, inducing the visiting team to take a time out. However, Casale does not stop and manages to impose its game on the Lions, with a counter break of 2-13, closing the period in control at +11.
In the first part of the last quarter, the game continued the same pace, with Casale firmly in command and an unchanged advantage; Derthona, however, did not give up, and with the baskets of Cissè, managed to reduce the gap to 7 points with 2' 30'' to go. For almost two minutes of the game, both teams wasted several opportunities, without managing to score. With only 15'' to go, the two free throws scored by Casale, with the score at 50-57, and the ball lost from the throw-in by the Leoni, definitively extinguished any hope of recovery.
Despite the defeat, it is worth highlighting the excellent performance of Cissè, author of a double double, with 27 points (10/18 from the field, 4/5 from the free throw line) and 13 rebounds, thus being the best scorer of the match.
The next appointment with the interregional Serie B will be Saturday 16 November, away to Gallarate against Esse Solar Gallaratese.
