Il Gulliver Supermarkets Derthona is defeated on the field of Esse Solar Gallaratese after a very hard-fought match, with several changes of lead between the two teams, but decided by the partial score in the second quarter which allowed the Lombardy team to win the final matchday in the ninth round of the Division A Conference North-West of the Serie B Interregionale.
In the first twenty minutes of play, Derthona managed to end the first quarter with a lead, managing to limit the opponents' attempts to break away. In the second period, however, the home team took advantage of some defensive lapses by the black and white team, taking a double-digit lead, a gap reduced to -4 by Tortona at the end of the long break.
The second half began with Gulliver, who, thanks to a solid reaction, managed to recover the deficit and take control of the game. Bruno Farias' contribution was fundamental, author of 11 assists, who helped his teammates create excellent scoring opportunities. Gallarate, however, did not give up and with a partial of 7-0 they returned to the lead, closing the third quarter with a score of 56-54. The last ten minutes were characterized by a series of baskets by both teams, keeping the gap always under five points, until one minute from the end, when Gallaratese finally extended and closed the game with a +7. For Tortona it is the seventh defeat in 10 games, while the Lombards go up to 10 points with one game less.
Statements from Juventus coach Luca Ansaloni at the end of the match: “We played a game that wasn’t particularly clear, with many errors in passing and losing a lot of balls. We weren’t able to create easy shots from inside the arc, especially when we were getting close to the basket, with ineffective conclusions. On the contrary, we made the most of our three-point shooting opportunities, also allowing us to hang on to our opponents, given the not very high score. Despite the final result, we managed to put in a good defense, even if there were some difficulties that proved to be decisive.”
The next appointment for Gulliver Supermarkets will be Wednesday November 27 20.45 hours, For the home game against Pavia Basketball.
